Managing Users & Permissions
Set up users and permissions in ChatSignals, control access to features, and manage roles to keep your workspace secure and well-organised.
As an Admin, you can invite team members and control their access to your ChatSignals organisation.
User Roles
There are two roles:
- Admin: Full control over the organisation. Can invite members, change roles, manage all settings, and configure bots.
- Member: Can view data and performance, chat with deployed bots, but cannot change settings, invite users, or configure bots.
What Members Can Do
Members have access to:
- Your Bots: Chat with deployed bots using the chat icon to see how customers will experience them
- Chats: View customer conversations and analytics
- Dashboard: View performance metrics (if available)
- Settings → Organisation: View organisation details
What Only Admins Can Do
Admin-only features include:
- Configure Bots: Access bot configuration pages to change deployment mode, knowledge sources, sales actions, and handoff settings
- Knowledge Sources: Add, edit, and delete knowledge sources (accessible via Settings → Knowledge Sources)
- Data Sources: Manage HubSpot and other integrations
- Channels: Create and manage channels
- Metrics: Configure custom metrics
- Team Management: Invite users, change roles, and remove members
Inviting Team Members
- Go to Settings → Organisation.
- Find the Team Members section and click "Invite Member".
- Enter the member's Email Address and choose their Role (Admin or Member).
- Click "Send Invite".
The invited person will receive an email with a link to join your organisation. Invitations expire after 7 days.
Managing Team Members
You can view all active members in Settings → Organisation → Team Members.
- Change Role: Click next to a member's name to change their role between Admin and Member.
- Remove Member: Click the delete icon next to a member's name to remove them from the organisation.
You cannot change your own role or remove yourself. You also cannot remove the last Admin in the organisation.
