Silent Mode vs. Live Deployment

Learn the difference between Silent Mode and Live Mode in ChatSignals to safely test automation before fully deploying to your customer-facing team.

Bots are currently only available for HubSpot data sources.

Your bot has three deployment modes. Choosing the right one is important for testing and going live.

DISABLED

The bot is completely off. It will not respond to any conversations.

  • Use it for: Initial setup or when you need to make major changes.

SILENT Mode

The bot is on, but it only posts its responses as internal notes in HubSpot. Your customers will not see the bot's messages. The response shows as a comment on the thread in the conversation in the HubSpot inbox UI.

  • Use it for: Testing your bot with real conversations without any risk. You can see what the bot would have said.

ENABLED Mode

The bot is live and responds directly to your customers.

  • Use it for: When you are confident in your bot's ability to answer questions and you are ready to go live.

Recommendation: Always use SILENT mode to test your bot before switching to ENABLED.
